Hey
John! I really had some incredible days on
the Missoula area rivers with you last year. Between my daughter, April, my
son-in-law, Mike, and me, we each caught the largest Brown trout of our lives. That 24 inch
Brown that Mike caught was spectacular! April and I both caught 22 inchers. I've fished with
many guides in the Missoula area over the last 12 years, but I've never had as consistently
good experiences with other guides as with you, John. To put it straight out there, you work
your ass off for your clients and the results are great fishing experiences. Thanks for
everything and I'll be booking some trips soon! Tim

I stepped off a plane 10 years ago, having never held a fly rod, not
knowing what to expect. Since then I have been back 25 plus times with my father, brother,
friends and now the most finatical fisher in my group my wife. To say you exceed our
expectations each and everytime would be an understatement. Since getting the bug, I
have traveled to other areas in search of new rivers and comporable experiences, only to be
disappointed. You and your guides provide an experience which has yet to be duplicated
and that is why I will continue to bring my friends and family to Missoula.

The floats we did last September were fantastic! Not only did you put us
onto big fish, but you put us on a lot of them, which made for a couple of awesome days of
fishing. In addition, the tips and suggestions you gave me, a relative amateur fly
fisherman, couldn’t have been more helpful. I don’t think there is another guide in the
Bitterroot Valley that knows that river as well as you do, and I can’t wait to come
back later this year to do it again!

I’ve fished with John for six or seven years now. He’s taught
me a ton about fishing, casting and flies. John’s a blast to be around, but deadly
serious starting when he says “HIT IT” and ending when the fish is in the net. My
buddies and I only get one chance a year to do it right, and John and his guides always make
it worthwhile. And he’s a Red Sox fan too! Gregg Kimball

What started out as "just" another day on the river with "just"
another fly fishing guide in Montana lead to be "just" the beginning of over 13 years catching
trout exclusively with John. I return many times each year with either clients, friends, or
alone to have another "trip of a lifetime". There are not enough superlatives to describe all
of the grand adventures we have had on the water. When I wade fish my home waters, the success
I have comes from techniques and tips given to me by John. Give yourself a chance and spend time fishing with John, and like me
you will return again and again just to see what trout lay around the next
bend. Ken Staiger – a.k.a. "King of the

I have fished all over North America, with plenty of guides, and
I've never fished with a more knowledgeable or enjoyable guide...if you want to use dry flies to
catch big browns on the Bitterroot, giant rainbows on the Clark Fork and monster trout on
the Blackfoot
John Gould is THE MAN!

“As a local, over the last five years I’ve had
the opportunity to be guided several times a year by Missoula ’s best guide- John Gould. After my
first trip with John, I knew he was my guide and I haven’t fished with anyone else. I have learned
so much from John as he is always generous with his knowledge and instruction. He knows where the
big ones are if that’s your game and he will work very hard to allow you an opportunity to net
several on a float. I have fished with guides all over the country and have never had one so
willing to stay on the river until the client is well satisfied and has had a super day. Bring
plenty of film or a large chip, because you will have great fish to document.

The first time I heard about John Gould was from a friend in my fishing
club. She had just spent a day drifting with him on the Bitteroot and the Clark Fork. As they
were gliding near the bank, John pulled the boat over. He said he spotted a monster brown up
ahead but wanted to check. Then he proceeded to quietly get out of the boat and crawl up the
edge of the bank to take a closer look.Yep, a monster. They worked until they got that monster
that day. Now, everytime we are in Montana we all try to sign up for John first. No one knows
the rivers, the fish, the drifts, the spots better. No one can match John's passion for catching
fish and knowing how to do it.

" John has an unbelievable knowledge of
the Bitterroot,Clark Fork, Blackfoot and Missouri Rivers, be they high and rowly or low and
clear. The rivers change dramatically year by year, but he adapts to the changes with
aplomb. He is able to get you onto nice fish whatever the circumstances. He's a
master of reading the backwater sloughs. Along with his dog, buddy, he can provide you
with a wonderful experience fishing the Missoula rivers. He's not dissapointed me in over
10 years. "
